As Trump is mere days away from being Inaugurated as the first President to also be a convicted felon, adjudicated rapists and suspected pedophile, we have to wonder how we got here. And the honest answer is that the Democrats failed to protect democracy and America from this criminal and his underlings. While the vast amount of the blame falls on the shoulders of the Democrats, Trump had help along the way to prevent his well deserved incarceration. Trump doesn’t have the intellectual aptitude to maneuver around a street cone let alone the cone of justice. He had help on the inside and from the media, but that fails to absolve the Democrats from not pursuing convictions against Trump for his electoral interference and inciting a coup attempt on January 6th as soon as Biden took office.
By dragging their heels in prosecuting Trump, the Democrats allowed him to run out the clock on his time to be convicted. They failed America. They failed to uphold the Constitution against all threats foreign and domestic. They failed to protect democracy.
President Biden wanted to unite the country after the contentious 2020 elections. He and the Democrats wanted to show they were above the contempt of going after opponents like Trump and the rest of MAGA cult. And the biggest reason why Trump will ascend to the most powerful office in the world, Merrick Garland.
The same Merrick Garland that was nominated for the Supreme Court only to be torpedoed by Mitch McConnell and the rest of the Republican party. Biden thought he would stick to them by nominating him for Attorney General, but in actuality he stuck it to us Americans who believe in the truth, the Constitution and democracy. All the things Garland failed to protect.
When Biden got into office the first thing that should have happened was the investigation into Trump for January 6th. Add the investigation into classified documents being stolen and stored at Mar-a-Lago and shown to our enemies and Trump’s wealthy cronies and Trump would have actually been convicted. Don’t believe me. The release of Jack Smith’s brief showed in its entirety and clarity that Trump is a criminal who belongs behind bars and not in the White House.
The Democrats failed to protect democracy. They failed to protect America.
And while Garland dragged his heels in prosecuting Trump for the vile crimes he committed, he acquiesced to the demands of the MAGA cult and their cohorts in Congress in prosecuting Hunter Biden over a suspected laptop that tied him and his father to bribery and embezzlement of foreign funds. And the irony of that whole media circus was the fact that the IRS whistleblower was just convicted and sent to prison for lying about the whole thing.
And if anyone is going to be convicted of bribery and embezzling funds, Trump is your guy.
And as each passing day went by, the traditional media failed as well. It was their job to investigate and report the facts. As time went along they were an echo chamber for Trump and his flailing campaign. Instead of asking the hard questions and digging for truth, they were white washing Trump’s incoherent ramblings as passionate speeches and reporting as if he really got shot in the ear.
The traditional media failed us. They also failed to protect democracy.
The Supreme Court, who is just as corrupt as Trump, helped drag the case against Trump. The lower courts, especially the clown show run by Judge Aileen Cannon at the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, did everything in their power to slow down the time to allow the clock to run out and get Trump re-elected. The Republicans in Congress did everything they could to aid and abed Trump and his wannabe crime syndicate.
The Courts who were supposed to be impartial and uphold the laws of this country, failed to protect democracy.
And the sad reality is that there are two justice systems in America. One where the rich and powerful can evade consequences while the ones who can barely afford to pay attention are given the strictest of sentences.
I would be remiss to mention the election inference that Elon Musk partook in when acquiring Twitter. Twitter went from a social network to a MAGA centric cesspool of fake conspiracies and lies. While Musk pretended to care about freedom of speech and truth, he was more interested in buying the election when he bought Twitter. We’ll won’t have to wait long after the inauguration to see what Musk election interference bought him.
Elections have consequences. While I shudder to think what another Trump term will bring, we can only hope that it’s not as bad as the first go around. Who am I kidding, it’s going to be the biggest clown show ever. He’s not even inaugurated and talking about taking over the Panama Canal, Greenland and making Canada the 51st state. And his vile responses to the wildfires scorching California shows that he hasn’t changed one bit.
And the Democrats’ empathy for always trying to show that they’re above and beyond the vile antics of Trump bit them in the ass yet again. The Democrats have to wonder why they keep losing elections to this rapists and convicted felon. He doesn’t play by rules that the law dictates. Instead of keeping their hands clean, the Democrats should have been playing just as dirty as Trump. Slinging mud right back at him and putting the pressure on him to have more than just concepts of a plan and explain his actions in court for the crimes we all know he committed.
Mueller’s report proved Trump accepted help from Russian in 2016. Jack Smith’s report proved Trump not only took classified documents but also tried to interrupt the peaceful transfer of power. And what did the Democrats do? They failed to protect Democracy and America from a convicted felon, adjudicated rapist and suspected pedophile.
As tragic as the California wildfires are, it maybe ironic foreshadowing of what Trump and his wealthy cronies are about to do to America. Trump tried to burn down democracy on January 6th, 2021 and now thanks to the slow hand of justice and the lack of aggression on the part of Democrats, Trump has another chance to burn it all down once and for all.
