The 2024 Presidential election showed us that traditional journalism is dead. Maybe not the journalists who seek the truth, but the newspapers and cable news shows who turn a blind eye to it in favor of clicks and ratings. And by not doing their moral obligation to seek out the truth they allowed the lies and fabrications of a deranged, convicted felon to elevate to the highest office of land where he will show appreciation by making sure the “fake news” is no more. I hope they’re happy with the ratings and clicks; democracy may have been killed on their watch and they stood idly by and did nothing.
Was having Trump and his incoherent rants that lacked any sensibility let alone truth worth losing democracy over? Sure seemed like it to me when it came to traditional journalism. You know the same journalism programs that harped on Biden being old and senile and yet gave Trump a free pass with every two-handed elephant jerk off he did on stage or when he couldn’t remember which person he was running against.
There was a time when newspapers, like the Washington Post, broke the biggest stories in politics that shed light on what was happening in the dark. Now with billionaire Jeff Bezos owning the newspaper, it’s nothing more than a place for puppies to mess on since it’s only bullshit written these days.
Where was the journalistic integrity once displayed by CNN when Wolf Blitzer was watching bombs being lobbed at him from his reporting on the Iraq War? Now they give a free pass to Trump and all his ilk that have nothing to say except falsehoods that they had the journalistic responsibility to refute. Instead of refuting the falsehoods knowingly spewed, they turn to the cackle of Harris and ask if it’s a deal breaker with undecided voters.
Are you fucking serious?
I get that as the older generations become dust, that these traditional journalism outlets are losing viewers and readers. Everyone these days gets their misinformation, I mean news from credible news outlets like TikTok, biased podcasters and every other hack that was paid to spew falsehoods all through the internet. Readerships and viewers are dwindling, but don’t you think that maybe instead of getting clicks by not fact checking the lies from Trump that they would do their journalistic integrity and report the truth. You know like the truth about the election being stolen in 2020 or people eating cats and dogs.
And who gives a flying fuck about a squirrel and raccoon being euthanized. Is that really a national story during one of the more consequential elections in recent memory?
I never thought the news would let me down, but here we are. Why does everyone want to be like Fox News with their blatant twisting of the facts? Anyone remember them paying several hundreds of millions of dollars for their lies about the voting machines?
When it comes to the traditional journalism today in the newspapers and on cable tv, I feel like Obi-Wan telling Anakin, “You were the chosen one! It was said that you would destroy the Sith, not join them! Bring balance to the Force, not leave it in darkness.”
It absolutely feels like the media loved getting circled jerked by Trump so much that they constantly fawned over his mistakes and made them out to be cute, little quirks even as said he wouldn’t mind a would-be assassin shooting them first in order to get to him?
Speaking of fake assassination attempts; where was the media questioning Trump? An ear being shot off of from an AR-15 doesn’t magically regenerate overnight. What happened to the “assassin?” Where was the funeral? Where are the medical reports? How quickly that scam and others were quickly pushed aside for more elephant jerking off motions.
Traditional journalism failed us and in turn, failed the United States. They allowed this adjudicated rapists, this felonious piece of shit to get a free pass with his patented and blatant lies and sure enough the vast majority of uneducated, racist and misogynist voters ate it up.
I hope the media shows how life is after Trump and his cohorts of Reichstag circle jerkers try to implement their vision to make a white utopia. Like every other decision they make it never works out as they promise their voters. Yet their lapdogs will still go out and buy merchandise that says, “Never Surrender,” yet the photo they use is of Trump surrendering to the authorities for his arrest.
We’re in the end game now and unfortunately Thor, Captain America and Iron Man won’t be coming to save us. I hope the ratings and clicks were worth the destruction of the American Dream so only a handful of billionaires can consolidate the rest of the wealth from the majority of Americans.
